This research is being conducted by the European Federation of Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis Associations (EFCCA) and the Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum (LUMC).
The purpose of this research is to get a better understanding of the epidemiology of the inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in the older population (≥60 years) and its impact on patients’ quality of life (QoL), from both a physical and mental point of view.
If you are aged 60 or older diagnosed with an IBD you are welcome to participate.
Your participation in this online survey is completely anonymous. No information you share electronically can be traced to you or the computer you used. Your participation in the survey indicates you read the consent information and agreed to participate in this anonymous survey. Depending upon the depth of your responses, participation time varies from 10 minutes to 15 minutes.

IBD HAS NO AGE is an EFCCA campaign started in 2022 in order to raise awareness of how Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is impacting on the life of people aged 60 years and over. This year, for World IBD Day 2023 (19 May), we will launch a survey on people with IBD aged 60 years and over to investigate more on this topic with questions related to both quality of care and quality of life.
On the occasion of World IBD Day, on 19 May 2022 we organised a Purple Talk on “IBD has no age”. It was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness around the issue of IBD in the elderly.
